Egyptian Cotton is produced from a premium-quality raw material.
The fibres of the yarn are named staple length. The egy. cotton has a very high staple length. Therefor, it can be spun to a very thin but still robust and tear-resistant yarn.
The yarn constists of 100% mercerized cotton and by that receives a fine gloss.
All yarns are solely dyed in Germany, using pigments that conform the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.
The denomination 20/3 stands for a three-thread yarn with yarn count NeB 20/3. The threads are yarned in S-direction and the yarn itself is twisted in Z-direction.
The yarn count can be converted or compared as following.
The identification of the yarn count in the different numbering systems was done by calculation through the follwing equations:
NeL = 1,65*Nm and NeB = 0,59*Nm.
Advice: With knipling clothing it has to be considered, that this cotton yarn shrinks by ca. 10 % when washed. For that reason the knipling model should be enlarged!
